Halloween aftermath - A bat costume for my eldest girl
If you follow me on Instagram, you had chance to see what I was making for Halloween.
As usual, my eldest came out with her very own ideas about her Halloween disguise.
She wanted to become a bat.

Come al solito, la mia figlia grande ha avuto una delle sue idee per il suo costume: ha voluto travestirsi da pipistrello.
As usual, I did't feel in the mood of making a "real" bat or something "batgirl" alike. First at all because I don't like to invest lots of work and time in things you will wear once in your life. ONE time. For ONE picture. Maybe this only ONE time will be 5 minutes, half and hour the max... I don't find it fair for nobody, environment included.
Come al solito, non mi sentivo in vena di fare qualcosa come un "vero" pipistrello o stile "batgirl". Prima di tutto perchè non mi piace per niente investire lavoro e tempo in cose che andrano usate una volta sola. Una volta sola. Per una sola foto. E magari quella volta dura 5 minuti, mezz'ora al massimo... Non lo trovo giusto per nessuno, neanche per il pianeta.
When she said she wanted to become a bat this tutorial came to my mind right the way. I always found it a very clever idea and put it in a good place between the things I consider will be useful someday.
Quando mi ha detto che voleva travestirsi da pipistrello mi è venuto subito in mente questo tutorial. Sempre l'ho trovato fantastico e lo tenevo nel posto dove tengo tutte le cose di valore che un giorno mi servirano (secondo me).
Since looking for a plain black tshirt in my near area is like looking for gold in my cup of tea, I decided I'd make the tshirt myself.
Siccome andare in giro a cercare una maglietta tutta nera senza disegni mi faceva venire i brividi (quasi credo che una delle ragioni più forti che ho per fare quello che faccio per vivere sia perchè odio fare la coda alla cassa dei negozi), ho deciso che la facevo io la maglietta.
As usual, I used the materials I already had, like a great viscose-polyester-lycra knit and eco-felt.
I managed to make also a mask. A very cute one.
My girl added fake vampire teeth and fake blood herself.
Come al solito, ho usato dei materiali che avevo già, un jersey in viscosa-polyester-lycra e panno lenci.
Ho fatto anche una maschera molto simpatica, secondo me ;)
The result was a bat combo, tshirt + mask. For a complete bat outfit you just need a pair of black leggings, black tights or black pants.
This is a very unisex outfit.
Il risultato è un combo maglietta pipistrello + maschera. Per completare il tutto basta aggiungere un dei leggings, collant o pantaloni in colore nero.
E poi, qualcosa più unisex di così??
The tshirt is really fun and, we know kids, it can be worn anytime when our kids feel like. I do love these kind of garments, those that make kids special everyday.

La maglietta è davvero divertente per i bimbi. La parte migliore è che la possono indossare quando vogliono, all'ora che vogliono. Questi sono i tipi di vestiti che mi piacciono, quelli che fanno sentiri i bimbi speciali.
Da adesso la potete trovare anche dal mio negozio. In taglie da 2 a 14 anni.
