Body shape

Some days ago I was into a real struggle because I was doing a little research about capsule wardrobes. It came out stuff about body shapes. Well, getting into the "body shape" argument is scary. But it can be funny as well since your body shape in India is not the same as in Argentina, for example.

Aside from being frightened about my "banana shape body", about being under the 5'5" tall (I'm 5'1" tall), with a large shoulders circumference thanks to my fleshy arms, a wider waist than expected but good looking legs down from the knees. I was laughing as crazy.
Oh dear, I pledged I will never look into or get to use any body shape app.

Then it happened I attended a recital organized by my eldest girl's capoeira school and you must come next time. It was beautiful!
Not only capoeira, which I admire and love because there is not any gender distinction or discrimination and anyone can practice it, but also the rest of the types of dance people practice in this place. There were these beautiful ladies in their almost 50's... classical ballet dancers.
Breathtaking.
Veramente mozzafiato.

Usually you get to think about classical ballet dancers as super thin stylish fairy like young ladies floating on the air. Well, some of these ladies were not exactly like that. These ladies were real. Everyday women with boobs, bellies and gray hairs. Full of grace though. I was impressed.
They were also fine experienced dancers, judging by their abilities I can say they practiced this thing since they were very young and they do yet. No matter of what, because they love their art. As I would be able to sew blind in my old age. They kept classical ballet in their lives but they also had a regular one, with all that bouncing, signs and scars aging means.

Attending this recital was such a good thing after my body shape experiments. Where all I got was I am all wrong and the better if I'd go wearing a cardboard box because there isn't any garment that could fit me right. Even if the app advised me about wearing pencil skirts because they elongate my figure but then the same app suggested the better if I give up pencil skirts because my shoulders width circumference is almost the same length of my hips and my waist is too wide in such so short distance from my head to toes, there is no way to balance my body shape (!).
Anyway, I wouldn't follow any of this crap because, can you explain how the hell ride a bike (my everyday form of transportation) with a pencil skirt, 5" stilettos, don't sweat and walk up and down a parking ramp 3-4 times a day pushing my own bike plus a kid weight, or a pile of fabric, or groceries?

Nevermind.
E va bene, faccio di testa mia.

I was browsing a Marie-Claire issue (Marie-Claire UK, July 2016), where there was this article about the way we teach our girls to look at their bodies.
There were some touching words as:

"Hating our bodies takes time, energy and focus away from our work and pleasure."

Just imagine all the time we spend looking at ourselves in our bathroom mirrors, pulling/pushing our bellies inside/outside, pinching our fat, looking at our sadden falling butts, our squishy boobs and those faded hen legs we get after a long winter wearing only trousers and tights. Not to talk about us wanting to get all those anti-aging detox forever young products and fitness programs. At least the ultimate girdles and body shapers.

The author's article said:
- "I am so lucky to be healthy and ALIVE, how stupid is to have tantrums about how I look in a bikini."-
We assume being healthy and alive is not enough...

Or how stupid is to research about your body shape and then pretend to dress to look like another: taller, thinner, sexier. What for, where are you going faking yourself?

I do work for free conscious bodies. A free conscious body doesn't mean you grow your fat and let it be, it means awareness about your own body. You know it and you live in it. You take care of it keeping it healthy and working fine, it's your temple. You need to know your bones, your flesh, your guts.
I went into this body shape tunnel for a couple of days, and just came out telling myself I'm not trying it again.
